The Hotel ARRIAGA, in Bilbao, is located just opposite to the Arriaga Theatre, on the boundary between the Old Town and the modern Ensanche, in the best shop and life area of Bilbao. The Hotel is ideally located in the very centre to visit the city, in a new building with a concrete structure and with garage with direct access by elevator to the room floor, so you can leave your car parked and get to know the city.
Bilbao can be explored on foot, from the Basilica de Begonia to the San Mamés area, the home of FC Athletic Club de Bilbao, but if you prefer not to walk, there is a tram stop just across the road, the metro is just 300 metres away and the Renfe Railway Station is just 500 metres away, allowing easy transport within the city as well as nearby visitors spots.
It is a treat for the senses and memory to get to know the Bilbao of days gone by. El Botxo, the old quarter with its seven streets where in 1300 the villa was born, full of shops, bars and restaurants, with alternatives to suit all pockets and tastes, will allow you to enjoy the popular dishes of Basque cuisine, and don’t forget to try the famous pintxos bars by the Txikiteo. Join us the third week in August to celebrate the Aste Nagusia, the nine days local festivals in the city.
Close by the hotel, in addition to the Arriaga Theatre, is the Plaza Nueva with its pintxos bars and the largest covered market in Europe, the Mercado de la Ribera (Completely renovated in 2012), the Cathedral of Santiago which shouldn’t be missed and of course is a must for those who are following the Camino de Santiago, the Basque Museum of Bilbao, and just 10 minutes on foot, following the shore of the estuary - the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, and 5 minutes from the Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao or the new Conference center and Concert Hall Euskalduna, that along with all the new projects in the city, have forced the exhibition centre BEC to move to Barakaldo (within subway reach).

Este ano remis wie viajar sola. Ne senti muy segura en El Hotel Arriaga. El personal era muy amable. Tenia una habitacion von Vista al Teatro. La vista ne ha Gustavo mucho, pero El Guido del trafico menos.

Un hotel que ha quedado bastante obsoleto, aunque es acogedor, la habitación amplia aunque con una sola ventana que da a un patio, una cama confortable y grande y un baño suficiente para el aseo, todo muy limpio, excelente la atención personal y la amabilidad del personal. Hay un ascensor que funciona con llave que tiene cerradura en cada botón y que tiene que ser una persona del hotel el que te suba o baje hasta la recepción, que está en la primera planta. Tiene parking y su situación privilegiada en la misma entrada al casco viejo lo hacen ideal para visitarlo. Además al lado está el Teatro Arriaga y no muy lejos el Museo Gugguenheim. Hay también una bonita vista de la ría y enfrente una vista de la bonita fachada de la estación del Norte, por así decir, ya que es la que lleva a ciudades del Norte.
